to my bauta

My daddy
dear dad
How I miss being little
Your safe embrace
your teachings
your face
when I made you proud
and felt grace

Daddy
I’m forever grateful
for your compassion
and care, you were allways
there, even when you were not
Now that I’ve aged
from naivety and rage
I thank you
for all you’ve done

It must have been
a hell of a ride
raising the person I
was and became

But I still feel somewhere inside
the necessarity to learn
about life
understanding and trust
How your teaching
made me wise
or not
Doesn’t matter
because I felt safe
in your soft embrace
Looking up towards
a smiling face
Holding your hand
an everlasting band
between a father and his daughter
That’s enough
